What a great day among the peat and birch nature reserves of Lincolnshire. Having the opportunities to film and observe adders at close quarters proved to be an amazing experience. Watching males hunting among birch piles, with their beautiful black and grey zig zag patterning blending in and out of shaded twigs and branches. This was wildlife watching at its best and then to encounter a female basking unconcerned by our presence, allowing a friend and I to film her with the dappling shade of nearby birches playing with the camera meters. The three grass snakes courting in some grasses next to a path, icing on the cake for me as this was the first time I had seen grass snake and the flash of that yellow collar will stay with me for a very long time. Looking forward to filming grass snakes in the very near future. UK wildlife rocks!!
